Stone Mansion.
Veriahan takes its name from the ancient Macedonian city in Greece
‘VERIA’ which is known as
‘KARAFERYA’by its previous Turkish inhabitants. The name had been given for the memory of grandparents who were migrating from
Veria to
Alacati as the outcome of Lousanne Treaty.
Original stone house of Veriahan is under the protection of the Cultural and Natural Herritage National Committee. Everything was being kept original with the historical stone house during restoration process. Even originallity is kept by Wall separators of the rooms
'Bagdadi' wood construction and all wooden colomns of the ceelings are still staying as it is. All floors and ceilings are renovated with the same wood work called
'binili' and nowhere cement is used for renovation.
